ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ has an interest in supporting collaborative research activity that involves researchers from other institutions.<\/p>\n
While being supportive of external research, the College recognizes that students have been entrusted to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ for their own personal education, and considers this its primary focus. All research must align with priorities outlined in the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Strategic Plan<\/a> and the Strategic Research Plan, and must comply with ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ policies and procedures where applicable.<\/p>\n It is expected that research led by external investigators will not have a negative impact on students, staff, or College resources.<\/p>\n All research projects, whether they involve human participants or not, must be reviewed and approved by the Academic Dean before they can take place at the College. Research projects involving human participants must also obtain ethics approval from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½\u2019s Research Ethics Board (REB).<\/p>\n While the ethics review focuses on potential ethical concerns, the institutional review assesses the feasibility of the project within the College.
